Sensei Rick Davies is a student of Tae Kwon Do, Karate, Jujitsu and Tai Chi since 1972.  He serves as chief instructor of T'ung Jou Karate Do Association (TJKDA) which was founded in 1984 to focus on the budo (self defense, not competition) origin of those arts.  Sensei Davies (ranked master/Rokudan-6th degree blackbelt) is a charter member of the the Independent Karate Schools of America (IKSA) and remains a dedicated student of the arts; he was recently privileged to teach at, and also train with World Champion Grandmaster Bill Superfoot Wallace during the 2025 IKSA National.

Sensei Davies (aka Mr. Rick) lives near Bloomingdale MI with his wife Jane (ranked Yondan 4th degree blackbelt) and their three loveable dogs.
